Digital keyboards: where music meets technology head-on. Keyboards have advanced
hugely since the early days of the Moog® Modular synthesizer (as shown
to the left, and played by Keith Emerson of Emerson,
Lake, and Palmer to the right). What started out as a type of device
that played only one voice, one note at a time, the sound determined by
where you plugged wires in and which knobs you turned, has become a category
of electronic instruments capable of recording whole compositions, playing
back numerous sounds, hundreds of notes at once, with realistic-sounding
emulations of all sorts of acoustic instruments. electronic keyboards have
definitely come a long way!
At Gordon's Music and Sound, we have many different keyboards to try out.
Whether you want something to just plunk out a tune on, or the same boards
that are used in recording studios by world-famous artists, or just something
to lay down a rhythm track while you jam along, you can see them here.
